Platts reported new data from China shows imports of Indian iron ore fell 24% in 2011.

As quoted in the market news:

Imports from India, which has kept its position as China’s third biggest supplier of the steelmaking ingredient, has fallen for the second straight year, after India’s central and state governments took measures to curb exports following lobbying by Indian mills to retain the ore for future domestic use.
